That College AU

He spends his hours, when he probably should be writing papers, drawing, sketching, making doodles in the corner of his papers. He's pretty sure every paper he's turned in this semester has had some sort of doodle on it. Possibly even the electronic ones.

He's just putting pencil to paper when she walks by.

His attention immediately shifts from the pair that he'd been about to sketch to the young woman who seems more interested in her book than in the people around them. His pencil scrapes against the page, making sharp, distinct lines, shading her in on the page in front of him.

His phone buzzes, but he ignores it. He wants to capture her before she disappears into the ether. She cannot be real. The sketch isn't his best work. But still, he wants to share it with her, see if he can get her attention.

He folds it into an airplane and tosses it straight at her, watching it land on her book. He signed the bottom of it.

He even left her a note:

I couldn't resist, but I couldn't keep it to myself. I'm not that kind of creeper. Wanna go out for pizza?

He's older than most of the men on campus; she wonders if he was military, her eyes lingering on the olive drab bag. He wouldn't be the first to come trotting off a base with G.I. Bill ready to pay for an education that will be more useful in the real world than whatever he did for the military.

And doesn't he just look pleased with himself, with that offer of her phone number, as if she can't just block him the minute he disappoints her. Still.

Nice smile. Good-looking guy. Her hand fits nicely into his. "Katrina." Her smile brightens as she slides the paper towards him - not to return it, but to draw attention. "Do you always creep on unsuspecting girls in the library, Bucky?"
