He'd let Anakin pull him closer, not resisting. He's exhausted, and maybe he'd be more wary if he had the strength left to worry--but he'd made his choice, and he had paid for it but his father had paid more and there's nothing left for him to doubt, between them. No matter what it feels like, or how little human flesh there is to feel. It doesn't matter. None of it matters.

He has a father.

But he must see to his other needs, and after promising he would not push, he finds Misa and takes the offered peach, staring at it for a moment as if its presence is a miracle.

"You don't need to tell me anything you don't want to," he says gently. "And the same goes this way. I know this... isn't how you saw your day going."
