Wakanda and Mary

"Shuri, you're beautiful and a genius." He says, hugging the younger woman. She laughs and hugs him back, then shoos him out of her lab, going to get everything ready for him. Bucky chuckles, and climbs out of the lab, heading for the quarters that they'd been given upon their arrival in Wakanda.

Ramonda had immediately taken to the young woman that the men had brought with them. She'd spent a great deal of time talking to her. And not so subtlely hinting that T'Challah and Nakia needed to stop pussyfooting around and marry.

Bucky pushes his hand through his hair, nodding to several of the guards, that line the halls. T'Challah must be in council, since they're congregated around there.

Sighing, he steps into his rooms and sees Mary standing by the windows, looking out over the city below. Walking up behind her, he wraps his arms around her, feeling freer than he has in a long while, and wanting her to share in that freedom.

He drops a kiss on her cheek. "What do you think?" He asks, quietly.

Mary hears the door open and a quick glance over her shoulder tells her that it's Bucky. His mood has cheered ever since they landed in Wakanda and that makes her incredibly happy. She puts a hand over his where it sits around her waist.

"Of the country?" she asks. "I think it's quite beautiful."

She had never visited Africa back in her time, despite the fact that it was a popular holiday destination because her country had many colonies on the continent. Modern African is very different from what she might have expected, particularly this country which was untouched by European colonizers.

Mary too had taken to Ramonda, who reminded her a bit of her grandmother, a woman who was unafraid to say what she thought. Age and wisdom seemed to give a woman that right.

All in all, she thought their welcome in Wakanda was very warm. She had stayed for part of the very scientific consultation about Bucky's condition, until it started to get a bit over her head. Then Ramonda had thankfully whisked her away for tea and a tour of the palace. She'd been back in Bucky's room for about 15 minutes before he showed up.

"How did the consultation go?" she asks.
