Jubilee glances at her new husband out of the corner of her eye. He's something to look at alright. She had never expected to find herself married of all things. Most especially not to freaking Captain America.
Her Dads approve, though, so that helps.
In two weeks time, they go before the U.N. to plead the case of the mutant, to prove that what the remnants of SHIELD are doing is not what is needed; that, in fact, it's far more dangerous because it's forcing them into hiding, making control over their abilities hard, and sometimes impossible, to come by.
She's not nervous about that part. That part's easy, because it's other people doing the talking. From her standpoint, her job is to stand there and look pretty and harmless on Steve's arm.
Steve. That makes her nervous. She glances at him again as they head out into the city.
"Juju!" She laughs and kneels down to get hugged by a gaggle of students on their way to school.
"Hey pests, how's it going?" She asks, laughing when they all start talking at once. She manages to understand a few snippets of conversation here and there, but sends the children on their way, quickly. They need to be in school. They can bother her later.
She looks up at Steve and stands, brushing off her jeans. She hasn't had time, yet, but her and Shuri are going to have to have some serious girl talking time.
