May. 31st, 2018 05:50 pmJubilee is fiercely independent. It's gotten her in trouble more times than she'd like to count. So has being fiercely loyal. (She'd say she's fierce, but she's so not got the cred for that.)
But when Wolverine disappears, she lets him have his space and then goes looking for him if she needs to. Sometimes, the old Canucklehead just doesn't want her hanging on to his belt loops. And that's fine, really. That's okay. She can handle it.
But when Scott tells her to call Logan home, and she can't get a hold of him? When she uses every number she has for him and a few she's pretty sure he doesn't know she has? When she even calls a few contacts that she's never to call ever? That's when she worries. Because that's usually when he shows up, brainwashed, and they go through everything all over again.
But when she can't find him, even through channels? That's when she sets out from the Mansion and goes looking.
"You didn't have to come." She says for the fiftieth time since they left the mansion, using Logan's jeep. (He took the bike, or she would've borrowed that.) She really doesn't get why her so-called partner had come anyway. It's a matter of going to Canada - legally - checking a few places and then calling Alpha Flight.
But when they'd crossed over the border, her partner had simply taken her passport, and handed it to the border agent and then driven over without so much as a word.
She looks at his profile. She's always thought Scott a nice person to look at.... Woah nelly! Right, not thinking too loud around him, with her luck, he's like, gained telepathy or something. But still, without his X-Men uniform on and just wearing normal people clothes, he looks different. Nice, but different.
"Take the next exit." Because that's the fastest way to Logan's cabin. She hopes the old man is there because she cannot spend any more time with Scott than necessary. Because then she starts getting Ideas. And Jubilee with Ideas never ends well for anyone. Maybe especially Jubilee.
Not that she doesn't... Alright, her brain and hormones need to shut the hell up.
"So why did you come?"
... Her mouth too.
