"Your feet are on my desk." Fury's growl doesn't startle her. She's used to him being cranky with something she's doing. But she does drop her feet to the floor and not look up from her phone. She's texting very important thoughts to a friend.
Slumped in a chair in the former director's office, her bright yellow coat a stark contrast to the room, she wonders why she's been called here. She should be out looking for her Dads. They're missing. And not in the "we want to be alone, go over there, child" way. But if she hadn't answered the call, Fury would've sicced someone on her, and she really doesn't have that kind of time.
Sighing, she finally looks up, bright blue eyes old in a young face. She's been here before, several times. Fury knows some of what she's capable of. She's hoping that he hasn't asked her here to waste her time. She needs to get going. Who knows where her Dads are.
The last time....
She's not going to think about that. It hadn't been pretty and a lot of people had died. She'd killed more than one herself, because there hadn't been any choice. And those lives still rode her shoulders and twisted her gut.
But, she's worried about her Dads. It's entirely possible they're ensconced in some cabin in the middle of Siberia, without a care in the world, but something in her gut says that no, something is wrong and she needs to find them. They aren't answering any of their phones, including the "don't call unless bleeding" lines.
"Fury." She finally speaks because she doesn't have time for this.
"We're waiting for one more." He doesn't look up from his work. A sound at the door and he finally looks up, those three dark claw marks down his face a stark reminder of who she needs to find. "Come in, Captain."
Captain?
Jubilee turns and sees Captain Freaking America stepping into the room. Oh. Oh.
"Captain, this is Jubilee." Well, points to Fury for using her codename. "You two have similar interests. Current intelligence has Wolverine, Sabretooth and possibly Sergeant Barnes in Austria." That one dark eye bores into them. "HYDRA is involved."
Give her credit. She doesn't bolt out of the room and go running off. She also doesn't snatch that folder that Fury has under his hand. Her phone creaks from her hand squeezing it so hard. She tucks the phone into an interior pocket of the coat and sits forward. Fury has her attention.
